Q.	What is a content management system?
A.	A content management system (or CMS) is a web-based application that lets you maintain and update your own website. You do not need programming skills nor do you need to hire a programmer. You choose the design you want, we attached it to BlueOceanCMS and then you add content to your site as desired using a simple MS Word style interface.
Q.	Why should I choose a CMS over a regular (static) website?
A.	A CMS will save you money in the long run and will allow you to keep your site fresh and up to date. See the "Benefits" section under 'Products->BlueOceanCMS" for more reasons why a CMS is superior to a regular (static) website.
Q.	Do I have to learn HTML to maintain my website?
A.	No. BlueOceanCMS uses a simple a familiar Microsoft Word style interface for content management and editing.
Q.	Can I have any design I want?
A.	Yes. Any design that you want can be turned into a template and attached to the BlueOceanCMS. Think of BlueOceanCMS as the frame and engine of a car, while your design template is the outer body of the car. Our frame design is universal so any body can be attached to it.
Q.	How much does BlueOceanCMS cost?
A.	BlueOceanCMS will usually cost a bit more up front than a regular (static) site, but it can cut your long-term web costs by more than half. Call us for pricing on BlueOceanCMS and the many add-on modules.
Q.	Is BlueOceanCMS secure?
A.	Yes. Your site will be password protected. We use authentication on every page. Every page you create gets assigned permissions based on users and roles that you create. This allows you infinite flexibility, letting you choose who can view/edit/add/delete the pages on your website. When a user logs in using the username and password that you assigned to them, they only see the pages that they are allowed to and can only add/modify/delete pages that they are allowed to.
Q.	Is there a user guide for BlueOceanCMS?
A.	Yes. Go to the downloads section and you can download a PDF copy of the BlueOceanCMS user guide.
Q.	Can I host my own site?
A.	You can host your own site, but you must have a Windows 2000 Server (or newer) and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (or newer). We offer cost-effective hosting at a secure co-location facility. Please look under "WebSolutions" on our site for more info.
Q.	What if I want to change my website design?
A.	If you tire of your design and wish to change it, we can create a new template and replace the old one. All of your content, pages and menu items will be automatically transferred to the new template. The process is quick and easy.
Q.	How many pages can I have on my site?
A.	As many as you want; but remember that too many pages can lead to a cluttered menu. Think carefully about the structure of your menu and pages before you create them.
Q.	What happens if I accidentally delete a page?
A.	Don't panic. Deleted pages will not appear on your site, but we can recover them from the database. Contact us (see the contact page) and we will help you get the page back.
Q.	Hows does the licencing of BlueOceanCMS work?
A.	You must purchase one copy of BlueOceanCMS for each domain name that you wish to create a site for. Discounts are available for quantities of 5 or more. The add-on modules are licenced in the same manner.
Q.	What about upgrades and updates?
A.	If you purchase the optional software maintenance for BlueOceanCMS, you will receive all updates and upgrades. The maintenance can be renewed yearly and must be purchased at the same time you purchase BlueOceanCMS.
